Hi Marley

Revenue Accounting Manager

Finance · Hybrid - Boston, MA

Insurance plays an important role in people’s lives, providing protection and peace of mind through life’s adventures and unexpected turns. In the moments that matter, people want to know their insurer is there for them. At Hi Marley, we help insurers deliver on that promise through communication that brings greater clarity and connection to the policyholder experience.

About the Role

You'll be the person who builds revenue accounting at Hi Marley, not the person who inherits it. As our first dedicated revenue lead, you'll design the function from the ground up: the policies, the close, the systems, and how Finance shows up when new products and big deals take shape. Revenue sits where product launches, pricing, and enterprise contracts meet, and you'll have a seat at the table for all three. If a clean close and a reconciliation that ties give you real satisfaction, you'll love this role.

We spend Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays together in our Boston office to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another. Recurring meetings generally fall between 9:30am and 4:30pm, allowing flexibility around the start and end of your day. Wednesdays and Fridays are remote.

What You'll Do

  • Own revenue end to end, from signed contract through billing, recognition, and reporting to the CFO and Board
  • Build the function with the Controller: the close calendar, revenue recognition policy, and controls that will scale with us
  • Be our go-to expert on ASC 606, writing the technical memos and leading the revenue side of the audit
  • Choose and launch our revenue platform, connecting CRM, billing, and NetSuite so deal data flows without re-keying

Your First Year

  • First 90 days: You've mapped today's revenue process end to end and agreed on a prioritized roadmap with the Controller.
  • By month 6: Your revenue platform is selected and in implementation.
  • By month 12: Revenue runs out of the system instead of Excel, and your policies and controls are audit-ready.

About You

  • A bachelor's in accounting or finance, and 7+ years in accounting, including 3+ in revenue accounting at a SaaS or tech company
  • Hands-on ownership of ASC 606 at a growth-stage company, including positions you've defended with auditors, plus working command of ASC 340-40
  • NetSuite experience, a track record of building process from scratch, and experience selecting or implementing a revenue or billing platform
  • Able to work from our Boston office 3 days a week

Nice to Have

  • A CPA
  • Experience with Zuora, Maxio, or NetSuite ARM
  • Public accounting experience with SaaS clients

Don't check every box? If this role excites you, we'd still love to hear from you.
